Privacy Policy

Information We Collect

SlimDownShowDown collects the following information to operate the weight-loss competition service:

• Google Account Information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your first name and email address from Google's authentication service.
• Facebook Account Information: When you sign in with Facebook, we receive an app-scoped Facebook user ID, your name, and your primary email address when Facebook makes it available. If Facebook does not provide email, you may enter it and confirm ownership with Google or your SDSD PIN.
• Competition Data: Your weight entries, goal weight, base weights, and calculated progress statistics.
• Private Action Plans: If you use action plans, we collect your behaviour titles, target days, daily check-ins (including Done or Not done outcomes), and optional private review notes.
• Private Insights and Experiments: If enough data exists, we derive cautious observations from your action-plan records, weigh-in reflections, and weight history. If you start a two-week experiment, we store its selected behaviour, dates, status, and acknowledgement state.
• Private Accountability: If you use accountability partners, we store partnership status, invitations, blocks, structured weekly check-in topics, support requests, preset responses, and optional action-plan aggregate snapshots.
• Private Personal Goal Timers: If you start personal goal timers, we store each timer's plain-text wording, start time, and hours-or-days display preference for your account. You can keep up to three.
• Team Membership: Which team(s) you belong to and your team's competition settings.
• Optional PIN: If you choose to set a PIN for faster login, we store a hashed version of your PIN.

How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate you and provide access to your team's competition.
• To calculate and display weight loss progress, leaderboards, and team statistics.
• To show your private weekly action plan, daily check-ins, and week review prompts.
• To calculate private, deterministic observations and experiment results for your selected team context.
• To let explicitly consenting active partners exchange structured support without open-ended private chat.
• To show your private account-level personal goal timers on your selected-team dashboard.
• To enable team features like sharing goal progress (opt-in).

Data Sharing

• Your display name and weight loss progress (if you opt in to share goal progress) are visible to other members of your team.
• Your action-plan behaviour titles, check-ins, and review notes are private to you in the selected team and are not shown to teammates in leaderboards or team snapshots.
• Your personal insights and experiment results are private and are not shared with teammates, administrators, accountability partners, or external AI providers by default.
• An active accountability partner can see your display name, structured weekly accountability check-in, support request, optional aggregate action-plan snapshot, and their own preset response. They cannot see your raw weight, goal weight, weigh-in reasons, habit titles, daily habit entries, personal insights, or experiment results through accountability.
• Accountability access starts only after invitation acceptance and stops when either participant ends or blocks the partnership. Blocking prevents new invitations from that member in the selected team.
• Your personal goal timers are private to your account. They are not shown to teammates, administrators, or accountability partners, and they remain the same when you switch or leave teams.
• We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
• Google authentication is handled by Google; we do not receive or store your Google password.
• Facebook authentication is handled by Facebook; we do not receive your Facebook password or retain a Facebook access token for normal login.

Data Retention & Deletion

Competition data, private action-plan records, private experiment lifecycle records, and accountability status history are retained for the duration of the competition and a reasonable period afterward for historical records. After an accountability partnership ends or is blocked, former partners no longer see each other's check-ins; each author may still see or delete their own retained check-ins according to available controls. You can delete personal goal timers at any time; leaving a team does not delete them, while deleting your account also deletes them.

The accountability MVP does not send email, SMS, browser-push notifications, or open-ended private messages.
